THE EXECUTION

Kenpachi was the first dog to bark, of course. The loosest demon of all, the chains to rattle had been gnawed off long ago. She wanted to jump straight to gutting. Resistance was on the rise, however. Multiple captains neared the traitor and almost seemed to build a defensive parameter around the figure.

When the Zero Squad joined the decision of submitting the traitor to interrogation followed by trial first, it seemed likely that Kenpachi would drop the issue. But when the Nanabantai captain drew his sword and began radiating the wrath of a dragon, things got a shade that could turn for the worst.

If there was a person that could manipulate Kenpachi, it was the dark-haired noble. And if the noble shared her desire to put the freak to the blade, then that would only fuel the Kenpachi's desire. Stepping up behind his leader, Heiji reflected upon the words of one of the newly appointed captains. Some red-haired man. He talked reason and pragmatic purpose.

Every division was separate, he had said so himself. And if the Kenpachi decided to go through with her original plan, he'd just have to back her up, even so it wasn't the desire of God. Luckily, he didn't have to release his Zanpakutou. Raijin's Shikai was always present. The golden ring on his back began to cackle with dancing electricity and sparks.

Was he reading this wrong? What were the chances of his crazy captain switching to reasonable behaviour when the reasonable between the two of them - Itada - was walking toward Kosuke, blade drawn, intention clear as the sky.

As Itada moved closer, the words—moderately wise---from his peers fell beneath deaf ears. Had they not known loss, known what it was to be stripped of one’s greatest asset? Interrogation was a fool’s chore at this point given Kosuke had decided to readily announce his involvement in the actions against the Gotei and the Soul Society as a whole. It was not honor that fuel his actions or even fear. Even as every Captain drew their blade, and no possible means of existence was foreseeable, he stood, falsely proud of his word and ways. What this was, it wasn’t reputable.  

It was pure cowardice. Whatever useable information that was available died with Sojiro and this was a given fact; if anyone should have been catechized it should have been the puppeteer, not the puppet. As such, even when given an order, the Taichō’s march failed to end on spot. His blade still relishing in the thought of cleaving the traitor into fragments of his current self and stain the rock in the coloration of red that dyed his blood.  

His reiatsu fluxed as the air grew increasingly warm, almost to the point of burning as golden tinges stained his naturally raven eyes. The Dragon increasingly exerted himself to announce his murderous intent through his sizeable energy. His blade would strike the very core of Kosuke and incinerate beyond the point of mere ash. Or so he assumed before the Royal Guard emerged from nothingness.  

“Tch.” His presence was ignored initially as the Seiryū pressed forward, his blade gradually lifting before his shoulder met the tip of the man’s finger. In that moment, the full brunt, the full weight of Kazuya’s reiatsu could be felt coursing through Itada’s veins as his body became instantly heavier—it exceeded even that of the mass of a mountain. Gritting his teeth, Itada still moved, his feet slowly sliding as he moved against the burden of a world’s ocean to take aim at his target. His own reiatsu flexing to its fullest extent, those articles and items around him unblocked by the powers of his fellow Taichō instantaneously set aflame as the Dragon widened his mouth and showed his fangs. 

The two powers collided and such a toll was seen in the environment. However, against a power equal to that of the woman who he raised his blade for; Itada was eventually stopped in place. His body, restrained beneath some otherworldly power, the Taichō narrowed his sight, sending Kazuya an enraged glare before calming in due time. These fools only intervened after the fact and demanded territory, yet knew nothing of the circumstances behind it; quantitative leading only led to these complications; where was the quality of their efforts? 

Locked in place, all the man could do was carry the burden of his failures before turning around and walking off to his barracks once released. He would attend this Summit of thee Taichō and ready his men for the ensuing war to come. However, this day wouldn’t be elapsed in memory, and both Kosuke and those who further wanted to hinder his retribution would feel the sear of his wrath.  

There was a certain point during her observations of the unfolding series of volatile events where she and the others in the area felt a sudden surge of unfathomable power. The sheer vastitude of the power forced the brunette to her knees. The monolithic weight of it plunged pain into the very bones of the legs that so unfaithfully and deplorably gave out from under her. Unable to even lift her head up, she burrowed her gaze into the ground which her palms were planted against, nails shallowly scratching at it. What is this? Shinigami superior to herself, which was a blatant understatement, who thirsted for the blood of the alleged traitor were intervened on in a surreal display which she could hardly spectate with her regards cemented to the ground under her. Breathing was nigh inconceivable. Moving was impossible. If she had any hope regarding being able to do something even remotely useful, it was shredded to bits now.

"Holy hell..." she wheezed inaudibly to herself, coughing and gasping for air. "They don't pay me enough for this shit..." Her mumblings to herself would go unheard as she wiped her brow and liberated it of the copious amounts of sweat that accumulated. Was this truly the limit of her power? Of her use? The most she'd achieved on that very day was being knocked on her ass and then knocked on her front and take in information she could make little use of with her current meager stature of power. A transient method of leadership was constructed and they were to start preparing for the upcoming conflicts. Ayame, being the lawful entity that she was, had no motivation to object to orders from her superiors. Should she be able to aid in anyway and she was provided the order she would be glad to do just that. The reprimanding had little bearing on what she was to do.

While heavily panting and climbing back to her feet Ayame turned her attention to her Taicho, Tachibana-Taicho. She was given the order to prepare the division by supplying them with the information gathered and make sure they were ready for the upcoming conflicts. She initially responded with a tired nod before speaking. "Right away, Tachibana-Taicho." And she would do just that indeed. She spent a generous moment to catch her breath and recuperate to some shoddy degree, before using her rather commendable agility to simply disappear and speedily make her way back to Juubantai.
