“Hmph.” He chuckled, letting the bulk of her childish antics of the mouth bounce off his shoulder. She would find this route to be much more profitable for her health, had she continued to go in her previous direction she would have already been a corpse. But he felt it best not to disclose that information to the young lady; it seemed as if she was already amassing a façade of confidence. He was definitely no one to judge, all he did was systematically wing it; it was fun.
And by the time Ashton rose to his feet, the pureblood youngling had already imprinted her footprints in the grass. There was nothing to be seen from the redhead but a malevolent curling of the lips, things would definitely be more than interesting if Minerva was around, if a little dangerous. Through his experienced mind it was evident that the trail of blood wasn’t a gesture of convenience, but a devilish trap laid for the two. For some reason, he found himself failing to alert her of the obvious hazard, and simply followed behind her. Had it been a trap capable of harming him, she would be the first person affected, thus she would absorb the bulk of the injury and increase his chances of surviving this encounter.
Only mere meters behind the mortal, Ashton withdrew the blade of his Zanpakutō, and left and ominous trailing line in the soil before swiftly sheathing it. And as he neared the Quincy’s flank, he would be a simple soul with a welcoming smile and pocketed hands. They would find their path leading to a hovel with a singular titanium door barricading them from their goal. Though as two beings with powerful spiritual abilities, such a construct would fail against either of their abilities. But as of right now, the Shinigami was the follower and the Echt was the leader.
“When you’re ready, my Goddess of Beauty and Wisdom.” He teased, awaiting her mark. Had she the guts to break down the door via whatever means, she would open the way to a dark blue corridor with a plethora of different pathways with spiritual signatures of varying strengths. Two of them would be familiar and loving, and the others would be powerful and absolutely vile. And the moment they set foot in the base, a rowdy alarm would detonate the sound waves. This was the ticket to her parents, her future, and her ticket to safety and control.
